ABOUT

The term “precision medicine” has been increasingly used in the past decade, due in part to the rapid progress in “omics” technologies, such as genomics, proteomics and metabolomics.
Our goal is to provide the best patient care in prevention, diagnosis and treatment “with precision” based on the data from system biology, laboratory tests, imaging findings and health records. We collaborate with physicians and scientists across the fields of clinical and basic medicine and serve as a hub to implement precision medicine at Kyushu University.

The Division of Precision Medicine was newly established in March 2020. While precision medicine covers various aspects of medicine, we will focus on “cancer precision medicine” and pursue the following three objectives: 1) the advancement of therapeutic strategies to overcome cancer heterogeneity; 2) the development of novel methods for cancer prevention and 3) the establishment of clinical systems ensuring the timely availability of novel molecular targeted therapies to cancer patients. We welcome physicians, scientists and students who are interested in working together as a team to establish the future of cancer precision medicine.
